Bergville is a small town located at the base of the Drakensberg mountains in KwaZulu-Natal. Exactly the same distance from Johannesburg and Durban, Bergville is known to be the gateway to the northern Drakensberg. The town is situated on the R74 route which is the scenic route to the busier N3 national freeway.
Bergville is the largest town before heading into the Drakensberg therefore its best to stock up on the necessities before heading off. Although still a farming community Bergville relies on the tourism industry and caters accordingly in the form of its infrastructure and hospitality.

Close to the Royal Natal National Park, the town has a good choice of things to do. Bergville Cannibal Caves : legend has it that clans fleeing from the Shaka impis in the 1820’s fled to caves near Bergville and had to resort to cannibalism to survive.
